PANTERA WASI
A sacred path of purification, discipline, and remembrance through Ayahuasca.
This is not a retreat.
This is a commitment to your transformation.

At Pantera Wasi, we work with Ayahuasca— known traditionally as Yagé by the Cofán & Kichwa Tribes here in the Amazon.
This work is rooted in respect for the traditions that have carried this medicine for generations. It is not approached as a trend or experience, but as a sacred relationship requiring preparation, humility, and integration.
What is Ayahausca?
Ayahuasca (Yagé) is a traditional Amazonian plant medicine used for healing, insight, and spiritual connection. Prepared from sacred plants and served in ceremony by trained Indigenous healers, it supports deep emotional, physical, and energetic cleansing while guiding individuals into greater clarity, awareness, and alignment with their path.
What is a Dieta?
A dieta is a traditional Amazonian practice of working in close relationship with plant medicine through specific guidelines, including food restrictions, isolation, and intentional living. It is not just a physical diet, but a process of purification and connection—where the body, mind, and spirit are prepared to receive and learn from the medicine.
Why did we create Pantera Wasi?
Pantera Wasi was not created just as a retreat center. It was created as a space to preserve and honor traditional Amazonian medicine in the way it was intended to be practiced. In a time where Yagé is becoming more visible, this space exists to remain rooted—guided by Indigenous wisdom, protected by lineage, and held with integrity. This is not about offering an experience. It is about holding a path. A path of discipline, respect, and relationship with the medicine, the plants, and the Earth.
What makes us different?
Pantera Wasi is an indigenous-led space, guided by the traditions of the Cofán Tribe.
This work is not externalized or removed from its roots. It is held within the lineage, on the land, and in direct relationship with the communities that carry this medicine.
All proceeds are reinvested into:
The continued growth of the retreat center
Supporting the Taitas and their families
Strengthening and sustaining their communities
By participating, you are not only entering your own process—you are directly supporting the preservation and continuation of this tradition.
Meet the Founders
Taita José Abel Ashanga Proaños
A Kichwa Taita and second-generation Yagé medicine carrier, José Abel Ashanga Proaños walks a path shaped by devotion, discipline, and direct transmission. His relationship with the medicine was inherited and forged through years of dietas, service, and lived experience within the traditions of the Amazon.
He has studied under some of the most respected Taitas in the region, including Cirio, Angelito, and Querubín Queta—each contributing to the depth, precision, and integrity of his path. He also served as secretary to Querubín Queta, walking closely beside him in support of the preservation and continuation of this ancestral tradition.
A founding member of the Ukumari Kankhe reserve and now Pantera Wasi, his work extends beyond ceremony into the protection and honoring of Indigenous medicine and knowledge. His ceremonies are guided by prayer, presence, and a deep listening to the spirit of the plants—held with humility and unwavering respect for the lineage he carries.
“You do not learn the medicine, you come to know it.” — José Abel Ashanga Proaños

Chelsea Rodriguez-Ashanga
Chelsea’s path into this work has been one of deep personal initiation—walking through her own layers of healing, remembrance, and transformation to arrive in a place of grounded clarity and service.
For the past four years, she has been studying Yagé within the Cofán lineage under the guidance of Taitas Querubín Queta and his sons, José Atahualpa Queta and David Queta Alvarado, and now alongside José Abel Ashanga Proaños—immersing herself in the traditions, teachings, and responsibility that come with this path.
As co-founder of Pantera Wasi, she holds the container around the medicine work—supporting each person before, during, and after ceremony. Her role is to bridge worlds: helping translate profound experiences into something that can be integrated, embodied, and lived.
With a background in energy work, shamanic practice, and quantum healing, she offers steady, intuitive guidance through the depth of the process—meeting each person where they are, without force or agenda.
⸻
Together, their work is a union of lineage and integration.
Ancestral tradition held with care, and a space where transformation is not only experienced—but lived beyond the ceremony.
This is not a retreat built on trend. It is a space held in devotion—to the medicine, to the lineage, and to those who are truly ready to walk this path.
If you feel the quiet pull—not curiosity, but knowing—then this path may be yours to walk.

PREPARATION
Entering a dieta begins before you arrive.
Participants are asked to follow simple preparation guidelines in the weeks leading up to the retreat, including dietary adjustments, reducing stimulants, and creating space mentally and emotionally for the process.
This preparation supports the body in receiving the medicine and allows for a deeper, more grounded experience.
Full preparation guidelines are provided upon acceptance.
INTEGRATION
The work does not end when the dieta is complete.
Integration is a vital part of this path—where what is experienced in ceremony is brought into daily life.
Guidance and support are offered throughout your stay, with optional continued integration support available after you leave.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This is a traditional medicine path, not a recreational experience.
This container is not suitable for those who:
• Are seeking a casual or curiosity-based experience
• Are unable or unwilling to follow dieta guidelines
• Are currently taking contraindicated medications
• Are not ready to meet themselves with honesty and responsibility
Respect for the medicine, the process, and the space is essential.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Due to the nature of this work and the small, personalized container, all participants are accepted through an application process.
This allows us to ensure the space is aligned, safe, and supportive for everyone involved.
Once your application is received, we will connect with you to determine if this path is the right fit.
At Pantera Wasi each dieta is a step into deeper relationship—with the medicine, the plants, and yourself.
From initiation… to immersion… to full commitment. Each path meets you where you are. The question is not how long—but how deep you are ready to go.
The Path Of The Dieta
A 30 Day Yagé Dieta is a full immersion into the path of traditional Amazonian plant medicine—designed for those who are ready for deep commitment, discipline, and transformation. This extended container allows for a profound relationship to develop with the medicine, the plants, and oneself.
Through ongoing Yagé ceremonies, strict dieta, and a simplified way of living, the body and mind are gradually cleared, creating space for deeper insight, energetic healing, and spiritual connection. Over time, the process moves beyond initial experiences into something more integrated—where the medicine begins to be understood through direct relationship rather than momentary ceremony.
Held within an Indigenous-led, small-container setting, this dieta offers personalized guidance, allowing each participant to move at their own pace while being supported through every stage of the process. Silence, nature, and intentional living become part of the work—supporting a return to clarity, presence, and alignment.
This is not a short-term experience.
It is a commitment to the path.
minimum of 15 yagé ceremonies
A 7 Day Yagé Dieta is an immersive introduction to traditional Amazonian plant medicine, offering a focused container for deep cleansing, insight, and reconnection. Guided through ceremony, dieta, and intentional living, this experience creates the foundation for meaningful healing and transformation.
Through Yagé ceremonies, supportive practices, and a simplified environment, the body and mind begin to clear—allowing space for emotional release, clarity, and a deeper awareness of self. This process is held within an Indigenous-led setting, where the medicine is approached with respect, prayer, and tradition.
With a small, personalized container, each participant receives close guidance and support throughout their journey—creating a safe and grounded space to enter the work.
This is where the process begins.
A return to the body, to the Earth, and to what is true.
Minimum 4 ayahasuca ceremonies
A 15 Day Yagé Dieta is an extended immersion into traditional Amazonian plant medicine, designed for deeper purification, connection, and healing. Through ongoing ceremony, dietary discipline, and intentional living, participants enter a more profound relationship with the medicine and the plants.
This longer container allows the body, mind, and spirit to fully open—supporting deeper insight, energetic clearing, and integration beyond what shorter experiences typically allow. Held within Indigenous tradition, it is a path of commitment, respect, and transformation.
**All dietas at Pantera Wasi are held in a highly personalized, small-container setting, typically with one to two participants at a time. This allows for deeper guidance, individualized attention, and a more intimate relationship with the medicine and the process.**
minimum of 10 yagé ceremonies
